So did you watch the eclipse? I’m a little too far west, but I watched it on computer, through a joint effort of Purdue University, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and NASA. The first video is a symposium they put on, about how we’re doing in space. You’ll note that every panel has at least one Boiler on it, and one of the panels features Neil Armstrong’s sons, and another one has five Purdue Alumni who are active astronauts. Pretty neat stuff.
This is the live stream of the eclipse itself. Interesting to not that this is the first total eclipse in our part of the world since 1969, which was also total in Indiana and I remember watching with my parents. All three of us were rather fascinated. How Dad would have loved that symposium
Well, that didn’t work out perfectly Monday night. Let’s see 64 years to advance from the final four to the final game-well, at tht rate I doubt I’m gonna see the Boilers as NCAA champions. But they’ve played really well all year (although seemed kinda flat Monday) and so it has been a legendary year, and if it takes this
The Boilers played an excellent game, UConn played a better one. If it had been like a World Series 4 out of 7 it might have been different, but it wasn’t and UConn was better Monday. As Hammer and Rails put it
We have a tendency as fans to only see the negative and think that our team is playing poorly or having an off night while forgetting that the other team gets scholarships too and there’s a reason that they are out there on the court. Sometimes your opponent just plays better and frankly that’s what today was. There’s absolutely no reason for Purdue fans, Purdue players, or Purdue coaches to hang their heads tonight. This was a hell of a season. This is a hell of a team. They gave us some great entertainment this season and made it further than any Purdue team since 1969.
So what if it takes another 64 years to win the NCAA, if it does this will be rocking the astronaut lounges on the moon and Mars and maybe further
