Seeing this …

More and more often. I’d heard about it but didn’t pay much attention to it. Today, on FaceBook, there were instances that made me decide to do a little research. By the way, most of these are images and not videos.

What is bioengineered food made of?
The Standard defines bioengineered foods as those that contain detectable genetic material that has been modified through in vitro recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid (rDNA) techniques and for which the modification could not otherwise be obtained through conventional breeding or found in nature.
How unhealthy is bioengineered food?

Are bioengineered food ingredients healthy? In most cases, no. The majority of genetically modified/bioengineered foods are highly refined and processed, meaning they are low in nutrients but may be high in calories. There are not added health benefits to consuming these foods or ingredients.

 
What happens when you eat bioengineered food ingredients?

According to the National Academy of Sciences and the FDA, bioengineered foods are safe to eat and pose no risk to your health. The NBFDL and USDA’s regulations require all foods and ingredients that have modified DNA to make a disclosure using one of four methods of the food manufacturer’s choice.

One cause of European opposition to GMOs is that the advantage to agriculture and food production is often considered weak or non-existent, while the risks are considered substantial.
